About Us
Srishti is an independent South Asian dance organisation run by Nina Rajarani MBE. The organisation has a small team of staff that works from its office at the Harrow Arts Centre where Srishti is a resident company. The organisation is made up of four main facets:
- Srishti – Nina Rajarani Dance School provides traditional training in classical Bharatanatyam and Karnatic Music and has been established at the Harrow Arts Centre since 1991.
- Srishti – Yuva Culture is a touring youth group, set up in 2006, that provides professional development to bridge the gap between student training and professional performance. The group also provides education work to promote and educate people in South Asian dance and music.
- Srishti – Nina Rajarani Dance Creations is a Bharatanatyam touring dance company that exists to create and present work that maintains the authenticity of Indian classical dance and music whilst presenting these forms in innovative ways and within contemporary contexts.
- Srishti Skills is the organisation's outreach education department that works alongside the touring company. The education programmes are connected to the themes explored in Srishti's touring work and address topical subjects with young people in particular.
