Dance Proms 2011
Sunday 13 November 2011, 7pm,
Royal Albert Hall, London
We are thrilled to announce that Srishti - Nina Rajarani Dance School has been selected as one of the twenty-five best dance pieces chosen from across the country to be performed on stage at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 13 November 2011 as part of the first ever Dance Proms.
Dance Proms is a unique and exciting collaborative project that demonstrates the wealth of talent among the nation's young dancers and culminates in a gala performance at the Hall. Dance Proms is a partnership project between three of the world’s leading dance examination boards, the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA), and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). They have joined forces with the Royal Albert Hall to launch the Dance Proms, a national celebration of dance, dancers and dance teachers.
The gala performance will feature a diverse variety of acts to celebrate the dedication of the nation's dance teachers and to showcase their students' abilities. With the Royal Albert Hall as the setting, this is an amazing opportunity for young dancers to perform at one of the most iconic venues in the country.
This is a moment of huge pride and joy for SRISHTI, especially as this year we are also celebrating 20 years of our existence.
The piece that will be performed by our students will benefit from the long-standing, successful and well-known artistic collaboration between the husband-wife duo, Yadavan and Nina. The music for the piece will be composed by Y Yadavan, with choreography by Nina Rajarani MBE.
