Dance for Life
There are now more people in the UK aged over 60 than there are under 16, and this proportion is growing and living longer. People who remain physically active reduce their risk of developing major chronic diseases - such as coronary heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes - by up to 50%
Dance for Life is a series of gentle dance workshops tailored especially for people aged over 60, and delivered in partnership with the University of the Third Age and Age UK (formerly Age Concern) in Harrow.
The workshops use Indian dance and music in a safe, gentle way and promote physical activity, mobility, agility and balance. No prior dance experience is required.
Dance workshops are an opportunity for physical and creative activity, and to meet and socialise with other people. Each series of workshops will culminate in a short sharing by the participants.
