MEETINGS

Meetings is about currents and influences, crossing and combining.  It is about the old and the new, the familiar and the unexpected.  It looks at age old relationships – a woman and her lover, a mother and her child – and presents several meetings with changing textures and moods.  It brings fresh insight to long established dance through a contemporary approach to classical themes.

Nina draws her inspiration from the works of two of India’s most loved traditional poets – Mirabai and Surdas – and through her grace, wit and energy makes their chosen subjects a part of our every day experience.

This piece is choreographed by Nina Rajarani with a recorded music score composed by Pushkala Gopal.
