Srishti – Nina Rajarani Dance Creations in association with Harrow Arts Centre is delighted to present an opportunity for South Asian dancers and musicians, their companies or youth groups, to participate in an online gala performance to be broadcast by Harrow Arts Centre on 10 April 2021.
Srishti is curating this special performance to celebrate its 30th birthday this April with Harrow Arts Centre as its home.
The evening will be a compilation of 30 video excerpts of recorded performances strung together with information on each of the genres of dance and music being shown. Participants will be a combination of invited artists and those selected through this callout. We are interested in discovering new artists whose work may not yet be known to us, and providing an online platform for those sharing our vision to promote work rooted in classical Indian dance and music.
We are looking for UK based artists / companies whose work originates from any classical Indian dance or music tradition. We will be programming 20 professional solo artists / companies, and 10 student / youth groups.
Your performance video will be from existing footage you have in your archives and should be no longer than 3 minutes long. For us to consider your participation, the video should be a high quality professional recording of either a live or studio / tv performance. Please send a video of work, mentioning which excerpt you will be happy to share with a global audience.
Participants will be offered a modest honorarium of £50 for their time in contributing to this event.
