Free Bharatanatyam Dance Classes in Slough
We offered free Bharatanatyam classes as part of the Talent Development Programme of the Slough Cultural Revival Project, funded by Arts Council England’s Place Partnership Fund. Workshops were open to Slough residents of all ages. No previous experience required.
We also offered CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for professional Bharatanatyam teachers in Slough.
We hosted a group sharing event on the final day of the programme, where participants had the opportunity to present and celebrate with friends and family members the progress they had made throughout the workshops. The sharing was delivered as a 30-minute led class, allowing participants to demonstrate their learning in a structured and engaging way. Friends, families and project partners were invited to attend and support, creating a warm and encouraging atmosphere. The sharing was followed by a reception with refreshments, allowing everyone to mingle, share the success and happiness generated from the project. It also allowed Srishti to publicly acknowledge the support they have received, and allowed participants to share their feedback about the project, which was extremely positive.
This also provided an opportunity to discuss clear next steps for each participant, ensuring progression beyond the project. Participants were invited to continue their training by enrolling in Srishti’s new branch of Bharatanatyam classes at the Creative Academy, starting from May 2026. These classes provide a structured pathway for progression, supporting participants in working towards accredited Bharatanatyam examinations conducted by the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing).
The continuation offer also supports sustained engagement through regular performance opportunities, helping to build confidence and encourage longer-term participation in dance.
